JOSE ANTONIO MIGUEL "ANTON" Y. PEREZ City Vice Mayor ∇Presiding Officer Jose Antonio Miguel Y. Perez, better known as VM Anton, currently serves as the Vice Mayor of the City of Alaminos, Pangasinan. A dedicated public servant and community leader, he has built a career rooted in good governance, transparency, and citizen engagement. He completed his education at the Ateneo de Manila University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (2005–2009), with academic tracks in Management and Communications. He first entered politics as a City Councilor in 2013, and in 2016, he made history as the youngest Vice Mayor of the City of Alaminos. Serving two consecutive terms from 2016 to 2019 and 2022 to 2025, Vice Mayor Perez led the Sangguniang Panlungsod to become more effective, transparent, and people-centered. Under his leadership, Alaminos earned for the very first time the distinction of Champion Sangguniang Panlungsod in Pangasinan during the 2018 Local Legislative Award. Vice Mayor Perez’s return to public service this term 2025-2028 was largely well-received by the voting population. He embodies the belief that public service is a public trust, and his leadership will continue to focus on strengthening collaboration between the government and the people, enhancing transparency, and ensuring that progress in the City of Alaminos is inclusive and sustainable. In his private life, VM Anton is a loving son, brother and husband. Born and raised in a family with strong values for service, VM Anton is the son of Jesus “Jesse Boy” Rarang Perez and Maria Lourdes “Malou” Yatco Perez. He has two siblings, Ma. Anna Patricia Perez-Ledesma and Ma. Anna Cristina Yatco Perez. Married to hardworking entrepreneur Sabrina Anupol Perez, VM Anton cherishes his family and ensures they come first. Outside his professional life, he enjoys sports, travel, and civic work, reflecting his passion for both community engagement and personal growth. The good Vice Mayor has also actively contributed to Civil Society Organizations. As President of JCI Hundred Islands in 2023, he spearheaded impactful projects such as the Alagang Pamilya Health Missions, which brought vital health services to underserved communities. His commitment to peace and order is equally notable, having served two terms as Chairperson of the City Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (CAGPTD) of the Philippine National Police (PNP), ensuring stronger police-community relations. He is also recognized as a Fellow of the Young Legislators for Good Governance under the Jesse Robredo Foundation. His influence has extended beyond Alaminos. He served as President of the Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines – Pangasinan Chapter (2019–2022) and as Secretary-General of the VMLP Ilocos Region. Most recently, he was elected as the Provincial Chairman of the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) – Pangasinan Chapter for 2025–2028, further solidifying his role as a leading voice for young leaders in the province. He is also an active member of the recently founded Vice Mayors for Good Governance (VMGG), a group of presiding officers that stand against corruption and promotes integrity in local governance. << Back
